Vacuum Casting (RTV moulding) of flexible parts
There are a number of grades of PU that are available offering a range of hardness's. As such this process is ideal if the exact hardness is unknown and it is required to 'bracket' the predicted value.
Otherwise the principles of vacuum casting still apply although the tool life may be shorter than with majority of hard resins.
As it is almost impossible to dress these materials, so the emphasis must be on dressing the master pattern and allowing the process to reproduce this finish.
