Machining (CNC) of clear parts

With PC and acrylic materials available, it is possible to use the production intent material for very small batches with no penalty. Hand polishing ensures a very high level of optical clarity whilst retaining good dimensional control.

This route is ideal for situations that require functional testing pre release for production tooling, as the optical properties of the design may be evaluated in addition to form and fit.

Leadtimes are a function of size and complexity and will vary from circa 5-6 days for simple light guides to 10-12 days for more complex lenses.
