Stereolithgraphy of clear parts
Stereolithography is capable of producing clear parts. The predominant issues that affect clarity are resin type and post build dressing.
There are a number of materials available from different manufacturers, the latest ones offering high clarity/minimal tint.
As Stereolithography requires a support structure, this must first be removed before the surface is dressed. This manual operation can be expensive and it is usually worth limiting the dressing to the areas where clarity is really required.
Overall Stereolithography provides a good way to prototype clear components, especially if they are complex and required in low numbers (<5).
